Black River Audubon Society members volunteered for the event, including Larry Wilson who is a BRAS board member and head of the American Kestrel Conservation Program in Lorain County. The data is sent to the Bird Banding Lab run by the Department of the Interior.
On February 22, 2014 the Ohio Bluebird Society awarded the late Jack Smith, co-founder of the Black River Audubon Society, the prestigious Wildlife Conservation Award, for his numerous contributions benefiting conservation efforts throughout Lorain County and Ohio. Get more info here.
